About me

I'm Ahnaan Uwaisulkarni, an Automation Design Engineer at M8M Group, Singapore, with a passion for turning ideas into robust, real-world solutions. My journey began in Sri Lanka, where I built a strong foundation in mathematics, science, and technology, before pursuing a Diploma in Mechatronics Engineering at Temasek Polytechnic.

Over the last few years, I've worked on everything from vending machines to autonomous robots. At TPRAC I designed full-scale 3D models, assembled systems using Arduino and Raspberry Pi, and helped improve a delivery robot's mobility and reliability. As a Senior Technician at RoboShop, I led the maintenance and customisation of more than 100 vending machines. Freelance projects have ranged from WhatsApp and Telegram bots to cloud-based management systems for clients in retail and hospitality.

In 2025–26, I was part of a team that built a 7 kg speed measurement device to determine the top speed of stationary personal mobility devices by measuring wheel rotations. The device is now used by the Land Transport Authority and has helped detect over 100 non-compliant devices. I focused on the coding and mathematical calculations, helping improve accuracy and reliability.

My goal is to make technology accessible and impactful. I thrive on learning new tools — from CAD and embedded systems to cloud-based APIs — and I enjoy collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. I've also honed adaptability and client communication through hospitality roles and volunteering as a videographer at campus events.

    Employee Management Page for Robo Shop

    This comprehensive employee management system is designed to optimize workforce management for Robo Shop. It allows employees to log in securely and track their attendance using GPS and time-based clock in/out, ensuring precise records. The system also enables employees to submit transport and miscellaneous claims, which can be reviewed and approved by administrators. Additionally, invoices can be automatically generated based on the approved work hours and claims, streamlining the payroll process. The system leverages Google Drive and Cloudflare Worker to keep operational costs low, and it provides administrators with the ability to review historical clock in/out data with Google Maps integration for location verification, adding an extra layer of accuracy and control.

    WhatsApp Bot for Frozt

    The WhatsApp bot for Frozt enhances their order management system by providing an intuitive interface for both customers and office administrators. Customers can easily create, update, or cancel orders while specifying their outlet for better clarity. Office administrators benefit from a comprehensive set of tools that allow them to list orders by individual or group, manage multiple outlets efficiently, and send automated order confirmation messages. This bot significantly reduces manual effort, improves response times, and enhances overall customer satisfaction by making the ordering process straightforward and efficient.

    AI-Powered Garbage Collection Robot

    For this large-scale autonomous robot, I was tasked with critical mechanical and system support roles. I designed and fabricated a robust aluminum mount for the EPOS controller using Autodesk Fusion 360, ensuring the core electronics were securely integrated. Additionally, I developed and 3D-printed a custom chute door mechanism to aid the robot's AI vision system in detecting objects, directly contributing to the reliability and functionality of its intelligent features.

    IoT Freezer Monitoring Device

    For Frozt, I engineered a complete end-to-end IoT solution to remotely monitor their fleet of popsicle freezer boxes. The project started with designing and building a custom hardware device using an ESP32, integrating sensors to capture and transmit real-time temperature, power status, and GPS location data. This information is sent securely to a central server and visualized on a comprehensive web dashboard that I planned and designed. The platform provides managers with at-a-glance alerts for critical events like power trips, temperature breaches, and geo-fence violations, while also featuring robust user management, historical data charts, and a live map view for complete asset control.

    Stair-Cleaning Step-Climber Robot

    On this project, I addressed a critical structural failure by redesigning the robot's weak L-brackets. Using CAD, I engineered new, high-strength aluminum brackets to prevent bending and improve durability. My role also involved researching mecanum wheel kinematics and retrofitting the robot with these wheels, which unlocked omnidirectional movement—a key requirement for its complex navigation tasks on stairs and flat surfaces.

    LTA E-Bike & PMD Max-Speed Tester

    As part of a team at TPRAC, I helped build a 7 kg speed measurement device commissioned by Singapore's Land Transport Authority to test the top speed of stationary e-scooters and e-bikes. I was responsible for the coding and mathematical calculations in the later prototypes, improving accuracy and reliability—including adding a retractable handle and e-paper display. The device has since detected over 100 non-compliant devices and contributed to more than 30 impoundments. I also created a comprehensive Bill of Materials (BOM) in Excel to support scaling production from a single prototype to multiple deployment units.

    Website Monitor Bot for Telegram and WhatsApp

    This versatile bot offers real-time monitoring of website status, providing users with a reliable tool to ensure their webpages are always up and running. Users can send commands to check if a webpage is online or set it to monitor the page at specified intervals. If a monitored page goes down, the bot sends instant notifications to the user, allowing for quick responses to downtime issues. This bot is compatible with both Telegram and WhatsApp, providing flexibility and convenience in communication and ensuring that users are promptly alerted to any website issues.

    The file stream bot for Telegram is a practical tool for users needing to share and access files seamlessly. Users can send files, images, or videos to the bot and receive usable download links or streaming options for videos. This bot supports various file formats and simplifies the process of obtaining download links or streaming content online, making file sharing and access more efficient. Whether for personal or professional use, this bot enhances productivity and collaboration by providing an easy and convenient way to handle files.

  1. Design Automation Engineer – M8M Group

    December 2025 — Present

    Design and development of automated systems for intralogistics applications. Responsibilities include developing 3D CAD models, creating technical drawings, and overseeing prototyping and testing of automated machinery and systems.

  2. Student Intern – Robotics & Automation Centre (TPRAC), Temasek Polytechnic

    April 2025 — September 2025

    Designed full-scale 3D models of robots and devices, combining mechanical and electrical components. Developed hardware and software solutions using Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and various modules including RF readers, servo motors, H-bridges, analog joysticks, IR and ultrasonic sensors, GPS modules, and line tracking sensors.


    Worked on a delivery robot at an NTUC elderly care facility, improving mobility (EPOS-controlled wheels), object handling systems, elevator integration, and safety sensor calibration. Also programmed microcontrollers, performed voltage checks, and debugged legacy projects to optimise reliability and functionality.

    Mechanical/On-Site Technician: Fabrication (including 3D fabrication) and assembly of robotic parts; on-site upgrades, troubleshooting, repairs; tested research upgrades for effectiveness. Key role in improvement via hands-on work and problem-solving.

    Maintained, customised, and deployed vending machines and robotics vending solutions for clients. Managed the full project lifecycle from pre-sales to after-sales support, and trained team members. Led a small team, overseeing payroll and reporting, completing 100+ projects. Implemented enhancements that reduced downtime and increased customer satisfaction.
